When will my ad appear?
As one of many measures we take to fight fraudulent use, all ads are checked and approved by our admin team before publication. We aim to have ads live within the next working day after submission.
Ads run until cancelled. To cancel your ad please contact us.
What are 'required fields'?
Readers of ads will expect certain information to be included in an ad (eg a contact phone number). Where ever you see a star symbol, that means you have to supply the information indicated to be able to submit an ad.
We also require certain personal details to be supplied with each ad for legal or admin reasons.
We won't display any personal details in your ad apart from the ones needed for a buyer to contact you. Neither will we pass on any of your personal details to any third party without your permission. Our full privacy policy can be seen in our terms and conditions
What is the 'ad text' section for?
The advert text section is for additional info about the vehicle or item you are selling.
You DO NOT need to repeat any details about the make, model, price or your contact details etc if you have already filled in those details in any of the sections above.
You are limited to 2000 characters. We also ask for a 200 word version of this text in case we choose your ad to appear in one of our print editions, eg Classic Car Weekly. Space is more limited here - 200 characters only are allowed. If you don't want to bother here, just copy a few words from the start of your full description.
An example of some advert text for a car might be:
Full pro rebuild in 2007, still immaculate, long MoT and tax, all receipts, rare wire wheel version. Plenty of spares.
How do I include a photo?
To include a photo with your ad, you need to have a copy of the photo saved on your computer or phone.
When you get to step 3 of booking your ad, follow the instructions to either browse and select photos on your phone or other device, or, if using a computer, you can simply drag and drop photos on to the upload box. Don't move to the next step until the progress indicator on each image shows that each image has finished uploading.
The larger the image you want with your ad, the longer it will take to be uploaded to our site. If it has not fully uploaded within 1 minute, the system will reject it. For the most reliable results only upload one image at a time.
If your connection to the internet is very slow, and your images are getting rejected due to the time taken, try resizing them in your device's photo editor to be less than 1Mb in size first.
If you do not know how to resize a photo, or do not have the photo on your computer, or if you are having any other problems uploading a photo, please place your ad without a photo, then contact us with your ad reference number so we can hold your ad until your photo has been received by post or email
